Information
The Teen Safe Driver Clinic presented by the Audi Car Club Chicagoland Chapter, is a great opportunity for a teen driver to work on improving their driving skills in a safe, controlled environment. The driving clinic, held at Maywood Park, is designed to improve your ability to control a vehicle in both normal and emergency situations.
This event is open to all Licensed teen drivers 16-18. Membership in ACNA is not required to participate.
We encourage you to download and view the event brochure for more information on this event.
Due to the one-on-one nature of this event, registration will be limited and spots will be given on a first come first served basis, so we encourage early signup to ensure participation.
Who should attend?
The Teen Safe Driver Clinic is open to all licensed Teens age 16-18 years old. Do you want to become a better and safer driver? Do you want to learn more about you and your car in a safe environment?
What to expect?
The all-day school is a combination of classroom sessions and driving exercises. Each teen driver will have a personal instructor in their car who will coach them during participation in the various exercises. The exercises are designed to teach safe driving techniques, including braking, lane changes, driving on slippery roads and reacting to an over-steering or under-steering vehicle.
Automobile accidents are currently the leading cause of death for teens. Safe driving is a learned skill that requires practice and additional driver training is the key. This clinic will present the teen driver with information and experiences which will help them begin a life-long effort towards improving their driving skills and becoming safer on the road.
Participants must be 16 to 18-years-old and possess a valid driver's license. Participants provide their own vehicle, which must be in good running order and pass a technical inspection, including tires, brakes, fluids, lights and other essentials. We encourage the teen to bring the vehicle they drive most often, whether it is a car, SUV or minivan.
A parent must accompany all drivers and remain present for the entire clinic. While parents will not participate in the driving exercises, they will be able to view their child from a safe distance. Parents are encouraged to attend the instructional sessions in the classroom and can also offer to help with cones, etc. during the exercises on the driving range.
Teen Safe Driver Clinic - $99 (refundable upon completion. Failure to attend will result in forfeiture)
Breakfast and lunch are included and will be provided for all teens and their parents.
No refunds for cancellations after July 19th.
If the event is cancelled due to weather or other situation beyond our control, participants will be refunded their fees less any monies the club has paid which cannot be recovered. An itemized accounting will be provided with the refund check.
THIS IS NOT A RACE OR A RACING SCHOOL. Drivers are financially responsible for any and all damages they make to a facility and its parts. The only insurance covering drivers and their vehicles at the facility is their own.
